Who are we and what do we do?

Calderdale Athletic Development Group in an independent organisation that was set up to represent and promote the interests of all athletes and athletic clubs (Stainland Lions, Todmorden Harriers, Calder Valley Fell Runners and Halifax Harriers) in the local area.

It has a working committee of a: -
Chair: Graeme Woodward,
Secretary: Colin Hughes,
Treasurer: Alec Becconsall,
Welfare Officer: Brian Burgin,
Administrator: Debbie Greenwood
and representatives from all the local clubs, the local authority and England Athletics.

CADG is recognised as a model of good practise and has succeeded in: -

massively increasing participation at a junior level

has facilitated a major expansion in active coaches

has supported clubs with equipment and facility hire

has run an open circuits session in the winter months

Up and coming developments include the opening of a dedicated indoor training venue, at Rishworth School in Ripponden, West Yorkshire which will host circuits, event specific sessions, strength and conditioning and coach mentoring.
